Everything here in the Barossa is intertwined, our ancient vines, amazing land, our wine community, unparalleled generosity and our delicious wines. It’s no secret in this agricultural paradise, that one of the Barossa Valley’s most respected names in wine - Peter Lehmann - is equally renowned for hospitality and its picturesque winery grounds. We look forward to sharing these with you at Runaway Barossa Marathon 2017.

Welcome to Australia’s inaugural Runaway Barossa Marathon.
The State Government is proud to support this event, hosted in Australia for the first time.
The Barossa is one of Australia’s best-known and most beautiful wine regions. With a rich cultural history and some of the oldest vines in the world, the landscape is sure to inspire all participants in this year’s Runaway Barossa Marathon.
The Barossa is about an hour’s drive from Adelaide, Australia’s Great Wine Capital, and the region offers world-class food and wine, stunning scenery and memorable experiences for visitors.
Listed as Lonely Planet’s fifth best region in the world to visit in 2017, visitors to South Australia are spoilt for choice. From the vineyards, to the outback, to the coast and all that’s in between, there is something for everyone to enjoy in our State.
Whether you are participating in the full marathon, half marathon, 10 kilometre run or kids run, or here as a support for family and friends, I wish you all the best and trust you will thoroughly enjoy your time in the Barossa and South Australia.
